65 mapped locations across Bryce Canyon, Grand Staircase–Escalante, the Highway 12 corridor, Boulder Mountain, Torrey/Fish Lake and the Henry Mountains / Hanksville approaches. Private land campgrounds are excluded; public campgrounds with concession operators remain included.
One pin can represent a camping complex: Kodachrome includes Basin, Bryce View, Arch View and group areas; Escalante Petrified Forest includes Wide Hollow, Lakeview and group camping. Group sites within other campgrounds may also be covered by their parent pin. This is a source-based inventory, not a guarantee that every unmarked dispersed campsite is catalogued or currently open.

Fremont River dispersed corridor: USFS records disagree on the area anchor. Camping is described between Johnson Valley and Mill Meadow reservoirs. Confirm the exact access with Fremont River Ranger District. Agency information
Tom Best / FR117, Cabin Hollow / FR121 and Dave’s Hollow: Reported public-forest camping areas. Older Forest Service restriction maps were not retrievable and the cited order expired in May 2026. Beas Lewis Flat: BLM authorized campground construction. A current opening could not be confirmed; do not assume the former dispersed area is open. Agency information
Spencer Flat, Rock Springs Bench, Cottonwood Canyon, Skutumpah and Smoky Mountain road corridors: Dispersed/backcountry opportunities are managed by BLM, but this inventory does not certify every road pullout. Capitol Reef wilderness and Grand Staircase backcountry: These use zones have permit and siting rules rather than a finite list of developed campsites. Obtain current permits and maps from the managing agency. Agency information
Cross-checked October 26, 2026 against the USFS constructed recreation-site inventory and recreation-activities layer, BLM national recreation points, NPS campground and backcountry lists, and Utah State Parks. Forest and BLM inventory records are not live opening reports. The survey covers the named destination region and its gateway camping; it excludes the Beaver/Tushar region west of this corridor and private resorts. Cabin rentals and day-use picnic areas are not campground pins.
